Angora hair comes from a very fluffy rabbit called an angora rabbit. Angora use became popular during the Second World War. It replaced cashmere. Being soft and fuzzy, they were called Fluffies.
It was during the late 1930's that Lana Turner made the sweater a popular fashion item, and the war made the angora sweater a fashion statement.
