Description
Materials Used: Wood Panels with cradle sides, gloss medium, acrylics, back side of a drawing paper, gesso and acrylic brown paper bag, graphite pencil, image transfers of the girl, moth and the cottonwood leaves, carpet tacks, waxed book thread, wax crayons, sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.
Meaning behind the art: I like to play around with silhouettes of women from magazines and then alter them in some way differently then they were. I love this pose and yes, I made it look like me. I just picked the paper on the right side of the surface and went for it…played around and played around allowing images to come together. There is no for sure knowing…we are always at the mercy of the mystery. Knowing just enough to get ourselves in trouble or just enough to make different choices. It’s probably best this way…Keeps life interesting. I’m delighted to use the carpet tacks and this time a multitude of colored threads. Something about tying knots to…my fingers seem to gravitate to the motion
