"Really" 6 x 12 piece of collage art on watercolor paper fused to a wood panel with cradle sides.
Materials Used: 140lb. Watercolor paper, polymer medium, acrylics, stained tissue paper, polymer resist National Geographic papers, sanded National Geographic papers glazed, painted drawing paper, image transfer, more acrylics, stamping metal cut outs colored charcoal, sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.
Meaning behind the art: I just got back from a weekend long workshop and had a wonderful time and learned a few new tricks that I'm adding in as I continue to explore this wonderful medium of collage. But as I was driving home I couldn't help but see the flood of signage for the political race going onI just wanted to wear this attitude of Really? do we need fourteen signs of your name flashing us in our face�I know I can educate myself by reading up on these people out there. About Laura Lein-Svencner
Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather’s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She’s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
